Oreos are always releasing delicious, and sometimes bizarre, flavors! Products like their Red Velvet Oreos, Carrot Cake Oreos, and Mint Oreos can divide people into absolute love or begrudging hate.
One of the flavors they released that I absolutely loved was their Pistachio Oreo Thins. Bit I haven’t seen them on the shelves in months. Which got me wondering, have they been discontinued?
Are Pistachio Oreos Discontinued?
Unfortunately, Pistachio Oreo Thins have been discontinued and Oreo has made no announcements or plans to reintroduce the delicious treat. Oreo tests a variety of flavors, such as the Lemon Meringue Oreo, but many are a limited edition or get discontinued if their sales estimates aren’t met.

Is There A Pistachio Oreo?
There was a Pistachio Oreo Thin before it got discontinued. It was made with Oreos signature sandwich cookie on the outside and a thin pistachio creme on the inside.
It didn’t have the original vanilla creme and was significantly thinner, thus the name Oreo Thins. The look very similar to the Mint Oreo Thins, which are still available, but they taste entirely different, of course.
What Oreo Flavors Have Been Discontinued?
Oreos have been around since 1912, and with that comes an abundance of flavors! However, not all of them have made the cut and stuck on the shelves indefinitely.
Some famous (and some we’ve never heard of) Oreo flavors that have been discounted are:
- Double Delight Oreo
- Lemon Merengue Oreo
- Magic Dunkers
- Apple Pie Oreo
- Oreo Big Stuf
- Oreo DQ Blizzard Cream
- Oreo Dunkers
- Uh-Oh Oreo
- Dulce De Leche Caramel Cream Oreo
- Cinnamon Bun Oreo
How Many Oreos Are In A Pack
Most standard Oreo packages have 15 cookies per row and 3 rows, totaling 45 Oreo cookies.
The Oreo Thins have 40 Oreos and you can buy the boxed version which has 4 packs of 35, totaling 140 cookies.
What Is The Rarest Oreo?
Oreo sells a Limited Edition Pokemon Oreo and within it, the Mew Oreo is the rarest Oreo around. On top of the fact that this is a limited edition Oreo package, each package has a variety of different Pokemon designs on their Oreos.
You can find some favorites like Pikachu, Charmander, and Squirtle in there. If you find a Mew Oreo, however, you are extremely lucky as they are the rarest Oreo and you’re not guaranteed any in every package.
It’s so rare actually, that NPR claims one was sold for $15,000 on an online auction! That is one cookie you don’t want to eat.
Conclusion
Pistachio Oreos are discontinued and Oreo has made no announcements about bringing them back.
Oreo does, occasionally, reintroduce discontinued products to the market, so you may see these on the shelves in the future but there are no guarantees. Just like the Lemon Merengue Oreos, they may be gone for good.
