Curbside pickup has become a quick favorite of everyone, from college students to busy moms. There are few things as convenient as placing an order and having that order ready the second you pull up to the store.
And with Sam’s Club being a fan-favorite, it got us wondering. Does Sam’s Club do curbside pickup?
Does Sam’s Club Have Curbside Pickup?
Sam’s Club has a curbside pickup service that lets you shop online at your local club and then pick up your order at the curb! You select your groceries online (or in the Sam’s Club app), and when your order is ready, you’ll receive a message. Then head to the club, check in, and Sam’s Club will load your groceries!
This article takes a look at Sam’s Club Curbside Pickup service: what it is, how it works, how to use it, and what you should know before you try it out.
What Does Curbside Pickup Mean?
Curbside pickup refers to the location where you’ll pick up your groceries: at the cub outside your Sam’s Club. Curbside Pickup also refers to how you’ll collect your shopping: in this case, your groceries will be delivered to your car.
You do need to be a member before you can access the service, and Sam’s Club offer it 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Pickup is always free for Plus members, and there’s a $4 fee (per order) for Club members. The times available to you for pickup also differ according to the type of membership you have. Pickup for Plus members begins at 7am Monday to Saturday and at 10am Sunday, while for Club members, pickup begins at 10am each day of the week.
There’s no minimum order and it’s fine to order cold or frozen items – these will be stored appropriately until you pick them up. Currently, there is no ship-to-club option.
It’s important to remember to look for items marked “Pickup” when you shop. Items that show only “Ship this item” are not available for Curbside Pickup.
Also, Curbside Pickup orders are subject to availability and are limited by the Sam’s Club Merchandise Policy. This means that not everything that shows up online is available through this particular service.

How Does Sam’s Club Pickup Work?
Using Curbside Pickup is pretty simple; you just need to remember to check that the item you’re about to select is available through the service.
To place a curbside Pickup order online, first make sure you’re a member, log in, and familiarize yourself with the Pickup in Club button. You’ll see it on the product page of every item eligible for Curbside Pickup. If the option isn’t there, then your item is not available for purchase this way or is simply out of stock.
As you add things to your cart, check that your desired club location is chosen on the items you would like to pick up. It’s possible at this time to change quantities, delete items or change clubs by clicking on the respective buttons.
Next, you’ll need to select your pickup time. To do this, click on the drop-down list to select the day and time you’d like to pick up your items. If a time slot is grayed out, it means it isn’t available to you at this time.
Finally, review your order information and click Place Your Order Now when finished. You’ll receive two emails: one confirmation email at the time you make the order and another to let you know your order is ready for Pickup.
Once you arrive at Sam’s Club, check in to let the customer service know you’re there. This can be done on the website or through the Sam’s Club mobile app.
What Are Sam’s Club Pickup Hours?
Sam’s Club Pickup Hours are designated according to the type of membership you have. Pickup availability also depends on when you make the order and how many other Pickup orders have been made that day.
During the checkout process, you’ll be prompted to nominate a pickup time. Pickup times are presented in “time slots”. Some won’t be available to you, and you won’t be able to choose these. Unavailability of time slots occurs when you make your order too late for that particular pickup, or you’re trying to choose a pickup time not available under your membership status.
You may see a same-day slot open during checkout, and you can choose this. However, same-day orders must be placed before 3pm local time and are limited to 9 different items or fewer. If there is an increased demand for Pickup service, same-day time slots may not always be available.
When you arrive, park in a Curbside Pickup spot (these are clearly marked), and sign in using the Sam’s Club app or text message. Staff will bring your order out and load it in your car.

Why Does Sam’s Club Have Specific Pickup Times?
Curbside Pickup times fluctuate according to demand, availability of staff, user membership, item supplies, and the time of the year. Pick up times also vary between clubs (for the same kinds of reasons).

Your choice of a specific pickup time helps Sam’s Club staff to process and organize orders in a timely way, to store perishable items appropriately before pickup, and to be prepared with orders (especially large orders) as soon as customers arrive.
