If you are a dog owner, you know how great it feels to have a partner wherever you go, this includes running some errands, going for a walk, or shopping.
If you want to get some coffee or a bagel at Starbucks, can you go inside with your dog? Well, let’s find out.
Does Starbucks Allow Dogs?
Sadly no, you can’t bring your dogs to a Starbucks due to health regulations, however, you can bring them if the store has an outdoor seating area or patio.
There is one exception where Starbucks would allow a dog inside the store, and that is if the dog is a service animal, for example, a guide dog. In that case, it’s allowed, but these are just a few exceptions.
If you want to know more about Starbucks’ pet policy and more details about animals being allowed at patios then let’s find out more about this!
What Is Starbucks Pet Policy?
Starbucks makes it very clear that they want every customer to enjoy their services, which includes people with service animals:
Starbucks always welcomes service animals to our stores, and we want every customer who spends time in our stores to enjoy their visit. At Starbucks, we are committed to educating our partners about our service animal policy and to ensuring that they follow it.
When partners are first hired, they receive policy materials, we periodically retrain partners on the policy, and we issue reminders to all of our partners on an annual basis.

Does Starbucks Allow Emotional Support Animals?
Unfortunately, Starbucks only allows service animals at this time and that doesn’t seem to include emotional support animals (ESA’s.)
According to Starbucks Pet Policy, they are required to ask a few things before you can get into the store with your pet.
Employees may ask a few questions, including, ‘‘Is your dog a service animal?’ Examples of service animals are guide dogs, autism service dogs, and mobility assistance dogs, to name a few.
In order to make sure, employees may also ask about what type of service does your dog offer. Sometimes you may also be asked for documents that will help you corroborate your information, which can go from medical documents to your dog’s ID.
So, if you’ve got a service dog and want to take him with you on your next visit to Starbucks, be prepared with any special documents you need and there shouldn’t be a problem
Does Starbucks Allow Dogs on Patio?
There are many Starbucks that also has an outside seating area or patio, and that is the perfect place to bring your dog.
Even though they won’t let you bring your dog into the store, this makes up for it with some Starbucks locations being designed especially with pets in mind.
You’ll also be happy to find that they can provide special treatment for your dogs in the form of a “Pup Cup”
Does Starbucks Allow Cats?
Yes, you can also take your cat to Starbucks, and the rules are basically the same as for dogs. You can’t go inside the store but you can stay as long as you want at the patio with your cat.
Make sure your cat doesn’t get too scared when taken to public places, other than that, have fun with your cat while you have a nice cup of coffee.
If you wanted to bring your pet to Starbucks then now you know there are a few things you need to keep in mind before doing so.
You won’t be able to take your pet inside the cafe unless it’s a service dog or any kind of support pet that you need by your side.
If not then there is a place for your pets in some Starbucks which is the patio. There you can go with your pet and even purchase some food especially made for them, so don’t be discouraged if you can’t take him inside, there are still ways to enjoy Starbucks by being outside.
It’s great that Starbucks policy allows for customers to have some more freedom with their pets, after all they do keep a smile on our face, so we would just hate the idea of being rejected because you have your dog with you.
