If you have an iPhone, using Apple Pay is a convenient way to pay for purchases without having to carry around a bunch of cards in your wallet. It allows you to securely store payment information for your preferred payment methods and pay by tapping your phone or Apple Watch at the POS.
As contactless payment methods become more popular, many retailers, restaurants, and other stores have upgraded their systems to be able to accept Apple Pay. Gas stations are no exception. There are a wide range of gas stations across the US that accept Apple Pay in exchange for gas and other goods or services.
Knowing whether or not you can use Apple Pay at a certain gas station can make a huge difference if you aren’t carrying around other payment methods. Keep reading to see a list of gas stations that accept apple pay, as well as some details on each one.
Gas Stations That Take Apple Pay
7-Eleven
7-Eleven is usually pretty quick to jump on the newest consumer trends for payment and such. The company is actually owned by 7&I Holdings in Japan, where contactless payment methods have been the norm for a number of years.
Accordingly, 7-Eleven is able to accept Apple Pay for products and services. However, you will have to go inside the store in order to pay with Apple Pay.
ARCO
The ARCO brand name is used by Marathon Petroleum company for their gas stations in the US and Mexico. Independent gas stations actually have the option of using the ARCO brand name as long as they are covered by the Marathon Petroleum distribution network.
ARCO gas stations can be found mostly in the western US, outside of areas covered by BP. If you want to pay with Apple Pay at ARCO gas stations, you will have to go inside the store to pay for your gas.
BP
While BP does technically accept Apple Pay, there is a bit of a catch. In order to use Apple Pay at a BP or Amoco gas station, you will have to download the BPme app. The tradeoff is that the BPme app will allow you to pay either at the pump or in the store, even when using Apple Pay.
As one of the largest producers of oil and gas in the US, BP/Amoco operates approximately 7,200 gas stations across the country.
Chevron
As one of the successor companies to Standard Oil, Chevron is the second largest oil company in the US. The company operates around 19,550 retail locations in 84 countries, including 8,000 gas stations in the US. They also own and operate the Texaco brand, and they are a major supplier of aviation fuel.
Customers can pay with Apple Pay inside Chevron gas stations, and they can also use the Chevron app to pay from the pump if they so desire.
Circle K
Circle K convenience stores are often set up to distribute gasoline. In fact, only 13% of Circle K locations do not sell gasoline. Apple Pay is accepted at most Circle K locations, but there are some that may not be equipped to accept it. If you want to make sure whether or not a certain location will accept Apple Pay, you can call ahead to ask an employee.
ExxonMobil
ExxonMobil is the largest oil producer in the US, and operates gas stations across the country. The highest concentration of ExxonMobil gas stations is in California, but there are also many locations in other states like Texas, Florida, and Virginia.
In order to use Apple Pay at an ExxonMobil gas station, customers will have to download the ExxonMobil Rewards+ app. Apple pay is accepted at most but not all ExxonMobil gas stations.
Kum & Go
Located primarily in the midwestern US, Kum & Go is the 24th largest convenience store chain in the country. They operate 400 stores in 11 states, centered mainly in their home state of Iowa.
If you want to use Apple Pay at a Kum & Go gas station, you will have to download and use their mobile app to pay for your gas and other goods.
Maverik
Maverik gas stations can be found in 10 states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Shell
Shell is another popular chain of gas stations that operate across the US. Although most of their locations will accept Apple Pay, not every Shell location is equipped to do so.
Shell also offers branded credit cards which can be linked to your Apple Pay. You can also use Shell’s app to pair your Apple Pay information with your Shell account, which will allow you to pay at the pump with Apple Pay.
Texaco
Most Texaco locations are equipped to accept Apple Pay for goods and services. However, there are some locations in the midwestern US that may not be able to accept Apple Pay.
That being said, Texaco also has their own mobile app that allows customers to pay inside the store or at the pump using Apple Pay. This is available even at locations that may not be equipped to handle Apple Pay by itself.
Wawa
Another popular convenience store/gas station chain with over 600 locations across 7 states. If you live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, or Washington D.C., you have probably filled up at a Wawa station more than a few times.
Wawa accepts Apple Pay at all of their locations. However, you will have to go inside the store to pay for gas with Apple Pay by itself. If you want to pay at the pump, you will have to use their mobile app. The app also accepts Google Pay, credit/debit card payments, and Wawa gift cards.
