Should I Call Walmart About My Application?

If a few weeks have passed and you’re left in the dark about your application, there is no harm in contacting them for an update. However, it is still best to wait for a reply from them as there could be many reasons why they haven’t contacted you back yet.

Walmart doesn’t specify how long it takes for them to get back to you on your job application. This is because there are various job positions that have different screening processes.

Sam’s Club is operated under Walmart, which means that they have to process applications from other subsidiaries as well. Depending on the number of applications they are receiving, it may take longer or shorter for them to contact you.

Past and current Walmart employees have claimed that it could take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks for them to receive a reply. So don’t worry about your application. Trust that Walmart has received it and is processing it.

Can I Make An Application Online?

Yes, you can apply for jobs at Walmart or Sam’s Club online. Here are some useful links that will take you through the application process.

  • Walmart Management Jobs

As you can see, there are dozens of career opportunities at Walmart and Sam’s Club. Once you’ve started filling out your application, you can always come back to finish it some other time.

After you’ve submitted your job application, a confirmation page will show you that you have completed and filled in all the required information.

If your application is approved, Walmart will contact you for an interview. However, if you do not receive an appointment for an interview, you can always change your job application preferences. This includes selecting other roles or locations to work at.

Walmart saves all their job applications in their system for 60 days. Do keep in mind that once you have submitted your application, you cannot make changes to that application. New changes to your application will override any previous information.

How Long Does It Take To Fill Out An Application?

It takes anywhere from 45-60 minutes to complete and submit a job application. Any other additional applications will take less time. This is because Walmart already has some of your personal information from the first application.

The amount of time it takes to fill out an application also varies depending on your job position. For more experienced positions, additional assessments are required in order for Walmart to consider your application.

What Is The Hiring Process For Walmart?

There are four main steps in Walmart’s hiring process. We’ll go through them in detail, so you know what to expect when applying for a job at Walmart.

  1. Completed Application
  2. Candidate Review
  3. Interviews
  4. Orientation

Completed Application

A completed application must be submitted either through Walmart’s online portal or a local Walmart location. The application must include your most updated personal information, as well as previous job experiences. Their applications are quite standard and follow the same structure as other companies.

Candidate Review

Candidates will be reviewed by Walmart personnel to filter out any immediate unwanted applicants. If your application matches a position or shift that Walmart is trying to fill, you will be contacted earlier than other applications. An on-site interview will also be given to those applicants applying at a local Walmart location.

Interviews

Interviews will be given to applicants who have passed the previous two steps. Once an interview is successful, an offer of employment will be given to you.

This will include pre-employment checks such as general background checks and drug tests if needed. To learn more about drug tests at Walmart and Sam’s Club, check out our article here.

Orientations

Orientations will be given out to applicants who have accepted their offer of employment. This will include basic training on store operations, such as inventory taking, customer service, and transaction management.

This is quite a straightforward process that doesn’t take long if your role is in need. Take some time to familiarize yourself with the whole process.

Conclusion…

Applying for a job at Walmart can seem like an intimidating task. However, with the right information, you can fully prepare for Walmart’s job application process.

Big companies such as Walmart take time to get back to applicants regarding their job applications. However, this doesn’t mean that you have been rejected. Job applications take time to sort through, so be patient and wait for your reply.
