Why Doesn’t Chipotle Have Chipotle Sauce?

Jul 27, 2022 ·

Chipotle is renowned for its quality meals and ingredients, which they give peculiar names. For example, we have Chipotle barbacoa, Chipotle pepper, etc. However, many customers have noticed that Chipotle does not have Chipotle sauce.

This has led to many people wondering why it does not chipotle have Chipotle sauce. Does the fast-casual restaurant not have a sauce? Let’s check it out.

Why Doesn’t Chipotle Have Chipotle Sauce?

Chipotle does not have “Chipotle sauce” on its menu. ‘Chipotle’ is a type of jalapeno and it is Chipotle’s name-sake ingredient. The popular restaurant is named after the chipotle chili pepper and not the sauce. You’ll find the chipotle chili peppers in all their dishes, but ‘chipotle sauce’ did not make the cut.

The absence of a “chipotle sauce” surprises a lot of people due to the name. However, you shouldn’t think that because Chipotle appends the name ‘chipotle’ on their product that everything on their menu must contain ‘chipotle.’ For example, not everything in ‘Taco Bell’ rings taco.

Especially now understanding that it’s named after the chili and not the sauce (which is another derivative of the pepper.)

Therefore, it is safe to say that the restaurant does not have Chipotle sauce and won’t be incorporating it anytime soon. They do, however, use different sauces.

Conclusion..

Chipotle doesn’t offer ‘Chipotle Sauce,’ mainly because they are named after the chipotle pepper, and chipotle sauce is relatively irrelevant to their branding.
