For a lot of people, one of the best things about the 21st century is just how easy it is to order your meals and groceries from the comfort of your home, office, or any other place!
This has also been a very good thing in terms of employment since there are a lot of people that can easily jump to an app such as DoorDash and apply to work doing deliveries with their own vehicles.
It’s a great idea that has become quite common these days, however, customers may lose sight of how much hard work some people put into these deliveries, that is why it’s important to reward their good service with tips and good reviews.
If you find yourself ordering with DoorDash, you should take some time to rate your Dasher. If you do decide to give your feedback on the service, here is how you do it…
How To Rate DoorDash Drivers
As a Customer:
As a customer it’s very easy to rat a Dasher, you just have to receive your order and then give a score from 1 to 5 stars.
Remember that the rating is just for the delivery service, if there is anything wrong with the food or it doesn’t satisfy you, it’s not the Dasher’s fault, that would be the store or the merchant that gave the Dasher the food for your order.
As a Merchant:
If you go to the Merchant Portal at DoorDash, you will be able to rate your Dasher and your overall delivery experience with the delivery.
Here’s how to do it:
- First, you go to the DoorDash Merchant Portal.
- Select the Orders tab.
- You’ll be able to select a specific delivery where you can see the details such as the date, customer, total price, and the Dasher in charge of that order.
- Select “Rate” right next to the Dasher’s name.
- You will be asked how was the service that the Dasher provided, and you’ll be able to select between “Poor”, “Good” and “Great”. Just select the option that fits your experience and select “Submit”(You’ll also be asked to checkmark the issues that apply to the experience and even mark the Dasher as “unprofessional” so that he doesn’t get orders in your area).
If you ever have the time, then make sure you use this feedback option responsibly, since DoorDash takes their customers very seriously and Dashers will be affected positively or negatively depending on this sort of review.
Do DoorDash Drivers Have Ratings?
Yes, every DoorDash driver has an overall rating system based on 4 different ratings which cover the performance and customer service of a Dasher.
Let’s see what are the specific ratings that the service finds important for monitoring the experience and improving it in the long run.
This is basically what we covered earlier, which is all about the customer’s experience with the delivery.
These ratings will then be taken into account in order to have an average rating based on the 100 most recent ones.
This is a good way of maintaining some control over the quality of DoorDash’s service, in other words, it’s very easy to start working as a Dasher, however, if someone plans to maintain a good spot on the platform, great customer service will be very important. If the Dasher doesn’t have a rating of 4.2 or higher then they’ll be deactivated.
The number of deliveries that have been completed will also be a key factor when calculating the rating of a Dasher.
Note that, if a customer cancels an order, then it doesn’t count.
Also, there is no minimum completion rate needed to have your spot at DoorDash, but it still is important for a good rating.
Arriving on time has always been a top priority for every delivery service, after the Dashers’ safety of course.
Delivering on time will ensure the customer’s satisfaction and in turn, a better rating.
A Dasher usually gets an order on the app and decides if he or she decided to take it or not, however, the logical thing to do is try to accept as many as possible, since fewer orders mean fewer ratings, and fewer ratings will eventually mean no orders.

You can also dispute a rating from a customer as a Dasher if you feel you’ve been wrongly reviewed.
If you are a customer, take some time to rate your Dashers, remember they are independent contractors, and if they do deserve the 5-star rating, then give them that, and it will help them.
As a merchant, you can also rate a Dasher, although it works a bit differently, it still affects their overall performance.
The most important thing about rating your delivery driver is just, to be honest, and avoid any sort of issues, in the end, the customer just wants their order and the Dasher just wants to work and make some extra money, so it’s a good thing that the rating system allows the service to stay safe and efficient.
