There’s nothing like having your favorite treats delivered to your home or office.
When that mid-day crash happens, I always get in my car and pick up some caffeine. But that got me wondering, is Starbucks on DoorDash? Could I save time ordering online? We looked into it and this is what we found…
Is Starbucks On Doordash?
Yes, Starbucks is on DoorDash. Although you can order Starbucks online, Starbucks themselves don’t deliver it to you. If you want home delivery on your order, you’ll have to order through the large delivery services: Doordash, Uber Eats, or Postmates (which is now owned by Uber).
This article takes a look at how you can get your Starbucks order delivered to you door: which services, how they work, and what you need to know.

Which Delivery Platforms Have Starbucks?
Starbucks has teamed up with Doordash, Uber Eats, and Postmates. However, there is also Favor (if you live in Texas), Deliveroo (for those in the UK), and Just Eat (since 2021).
Remember you can also order online through the Starbucks app, and while you can customize your order here, you can’t get it delivered. You’ll have to pick it up yourself, either instore, drive thru, or curbside pickup (if offered).

How Do I Order Starbucks For Delivery?
First of all, don’t go to the Starbucks website if you’re ordering items you want delivered. You need to go directly to the delivery service website, locate your nearest Starbucks and scroll the menu offered on that delivery service website.
For example, say you’re ordering with Doordash, you’ll notice that the page includes an estimate delivery time, a full menu and a location bar. The total cost of your order will include the price of the menu items, tax and a delivery and service fee (depending on the restaurant).
It’s important to remember though, that delivery service menus are not always up to date. This means it’s possible to order and pay for something that Starbucks are no longer serving.
Sometimes it’s a good idea to check on availability of items with Starbucks first, especially if you’re ordering seasonal menu items.
If you’re using Uber Eats, it’s important to check that delivery is available from the Starbucks location nearest to you. Although you can customize your drinks, you can’t pay for them with a Starbucks card. You’ll have to pay with a credit card.
With Uber Eats you can schedule your delivery, but the delivery fee can differ from location to location.

What Do I Need To Remember When Making An Order?
Starbucks staff advise consumers to remember where they are ordering from. In other words, be aware that Starbucks, DoorDash, and Uber Eats are all completely different (and separate) companies.
This means that you need to be clear on which company is sending you notifications.
For example, when your delivery app tells you that your order is being prepared, this information is coming from the delivery company, not from the Starbucks baristas (who may not even have started on your coffee yet).
Also remember that delivery app menus may not be current. This especially applies when stocks of ingredients for certain items run out (at any time). If this happens, you may not get your order filled, or you may end up with your order changed. Also, Starbucks routinely remove (and add) items to their menu. Your delivery app menu may not reflect these changes.
It isn’t possible to customize Starbucks artisan drinks through most of the delivery apps. This process is offered (and completed) only through the Starbucks app. In these situations, you would then go to Starbucks and pick up your drink yourself.
It isn’t possible to order a drink, say though DoorDash, and then call Starbucks to have the drink customized. This is because the ordering processes are completely separate.
It isn’t permitted for delivery company drivers to open and check your order. Therefore, the driver will not know if you’re receiving the correct items, and they also cannot fix the problem.
This is because the real problem is that the ordering technology, which although streamlined, does not necessarily communicate between systems.

Summary
Starbucks began to invest in delivery services around a decade ago. There are a number of delivery apps you can choose from, with DoorDash and Uber Eats holding the widest services.
Take care to check with your local Starbucks that the items you want are actually in stock and available for delivery. Remember that delivery fees apply (and can differ from service to service) and that delivery services only accept digital payments.
